ITV 124 | Lockdown Leadership: 5 Themes That Shine {Theme 4: Clarity}

LWGAD Podcast Series Theme 4 Clarity

Fear hung in the room. It was a dark, sticky tension that no one seemed to want to address.

The entire organization was back at work, after many months at home. This was the moment that many had been waiting for — a return to normal, a breath of certainty in the midst of the global craze.

Yet, here they were, at work. And scared.

They had just heard through the grapevine that a colleague on the third floor was diagnosed with COVD-19…10 days ago.

Unanswered questions spiraled downward — why had they not heard until now? Why had leadership not told them? Who else was sicK? Would they get sick? Were their families safe?

Two weeks later, they were working from home again, but this time there was no levity in their hearts and certainly very little desire to go back into the office any time soon.

If their leadership was not going to be forthright—to provide clarity even when it was difficult—there was very little hope of thriving at home or when back together.
