I sat across from the future high school valedictorian as I started explaining my view on why sometimes “homework” falls into the “urgent but not important” quadrant.

At 16 years old, I was starting to realize that some things — time with family and friends, time journal and reading, time playing an instrument or sport — find themselves to be important even though they are not very urgent at all.
