Whether it is an hour workshop in a group of strangers, or a full day experience among a tight knit team, it is almost without exception that I hear some sort of a question about the “order” of the Top 5 StrengthsFinder Strengths.
Does it matter? What does it mean?
As many of you know already about the online StrengthsFinder assessment, within moments of responding to the final prompt, you see a list of your Top 5 Talent Themes that looks much like this:
As you begin to explore the resources about your newly named Strengths—videos, personalized PDFs—you see that your Strengths are listed in seemingly rank order—1, 2, 3, 4, 5.
Sometimes this order immediately resonates with you, and sometimes you question it. Is #1 a more powerful Strength than #2? Why do I feel like the fourth Strength sounds most like me?
Today on Episode 28 of Isogo TV | Live and Work Your Strengths Video Podcast, on Q & A Day, I am sharing the answer to this very question–Does the Order of my StrengthsFinder Top 5 matter?
I share from the mind of a beautiful colleague of mine who has been at the front of the Strengths movement for many years, as she describes the position of your most foundational strength. And I offer up a few examples as I answer this specific, practical question about your StrengthsFinder results.
So, let’s get this question answered and let’s dive in!
